Azimuthal gamma

Quad Orbital

Directional gamma response while rotating and sliding.

Four gamma sensors in one retrievable probe provide selectable azimuthal bins, up/down sliding measurements and rotary inclination. The module is designed to replace the gamma module in a compatible MWD string.

Measurements & capabilities

  • Selectable two-, four- and eight-bin gamma
  • Up and down gamma during slides
  • Rotary inclination and downhole RPM
  • Shock, vibration and stick-slip detection
  • Field-adjustable sampling and filtering
  • Real-time data and memory recording

Applications

  • Directional and horizontal drilling
  • Formation-boundary and fault interpretation
  • Formation context during rotation and slides

MEASUREMENT IN CONTEXT

Put direction back into the gamma response.

Azimuthal measurements add orientation to formation response. Review the illustrated high-side reference and event orientation alongside the well trajectory when interpreting the image.
